Petra and Matthew met in Mauritius six years ago and fell in love at first sight. “Because the we lived on two different continents, the internet played a big role in our relationship. We were able to stay in touch, and ultimately stay together thanks to technology!” says Petra.
After a whirlwind courtship of ten months, Matthew popped the question and Petra was elated.
The couple were married in the beautiful Croatian city of Zagreb. The bride, Croatian by birth, radiated happiness in a white satin sheath dress which perfectly complemented her toned and tanned figure, and chose to forgo a veil. A sleek and glossy ponytail completed her signature style, in keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of the day.
Her groom was resplendent in an ivory linen suit, a fragrant rosemary boutonniere neatly pinned to his lapel along with a little South African flag.
On the morning of the wedding, he collected his bride from her parents’ home and escorted her to the ceremony, as is customary Croatian wedding etiquette.
Their beautiful summery Croatian wedding was attended by 20 of their closest family and friends, and it was truly a multi-national affair!
Petra’s dress and Matthew’s suit were designed by the bride herself. “I chose the fabrics, and both outfits were made by skilled Mauritians in their homes.”
It is clear from these photos that they are totally besotted with one another. Thank heavens for modern dating made possible through technology, or else they may not have been able to remain in touch and have this fairy tale ending!
We wish Petra and Matthew a lifetime of happiness and love together!
